TRAINING AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES

The training and education activities towards the gendarmerie personnel who carry out the judicial, administrative, military and other duties assigned to the Gendarmerie organization are performed under the responsibility of the Gendarmerie Training Command. Gendarmerie Training Command trains officers and NCOs through Gendarmerie Schools Command, and sergeants and corporals through Gendarmerie Training Units.

Gendarmerie Schools Command trains active duty and contracted officers and NCOs that are officer candidates, active duty NCOs and contracted female NCO candidates and specialized gendarmerie candidates and the officers coming from the troops for specialization training on tactical, technical and administrative information, conduct procedures, tactical and technical usage methods and rules and maintenance and supply principles of guns, tools and equipments; and also applies modern training and education methods in terms of military and general knowledge.

Furthermore, Gendarmerie Schools Command provides - in officers’ school or NCOs school - training and education, particularly through Turkish Language Courses, to course attendants and students of countries cooperating in terms of education and training.

Gendarmerie Training Units are troops where the sergeants, corporals and privates enlisted as gendarmerie are provided with vocational knowledge and skills in relation to military services.
